About

My work as a graphic designer incorporates creative thinking, collaborative input from diverse interested parties, detailed communications, and thoughtful feedback loops to ensure quality, well-informed products.

Logo Design

I developed the Invisible Histories logo to incorporate the idea of digging for history to uncover stories lost to time, and that these stories need to be told.

The Shovel & Microphone represent these themes, and the radiating lines from the microphone represent sound emanating from the source. These images were found through clip art sources.

The font is bold and fits the space defined by the shovel and microphone. The text and taglines have evolved over time to stay current with the podcast production.

I have incorporated this logo into formats that are white text on black background, black text on clear backgrounds for uses as stickers, and other formats.

I worked with Elke to identify the themes for the logo, and worked with her to approve for production.

Social Media Template

I created this Social Media template for the Invisible Histories event on Harbor Island in April 2026.

This is sized to work on Instagram and Facebook. The image provides information about the event and includes one image resource that was part of the event's body of research. The image is overlaid on top of an historic map of Elliott Bay, to share the context of the location of the event.

I like to play with transparency within my designs, to show the new over the old, or layers of history interacting with each other.

This example was part of 10 social media posts, each featuring one of the event's performers or showcasing a specific time in history.

I worked with Elke to identify the themes for the social media posts, and worked with her to approve for production.

Newsletter Design

This is a crop of the Invisible Histories newsletter, featuring our October 2026 episode all about the Bothell Pioneer Cemetery and their Historical Museum. This shows the incorporation of the Podcast cover image, along with text to describe the upcoming episode. I worked with Elke to identify the themes of the episode, and worked with her to approve both the podcast cover design as well as review the newsletter contents.

Brochure & Event Program

This is a crop of a 8.5 x 14" event program for a local job fair held at South Seattle College. The client was King County Wastewater, whose staff managed the event with the College staff.

The program was designed for visual clarity and to showcase the event's offerings.

I chose colors to align with other colors found in the County and College's own branding at the time so the event materials connected with the hosts.

I also chose fonts for ease of reading.

I worked with King County staff to review and approve the design.

Using Historic Images for Event Branding Design

While the Producer of the Georgetown Haunted History Tour, I created the event posters and associated branding for the live history tour that spanned over two weekends in October 2023.

The image is an overlay of a photograph of a real building used as a house for sex workers in 1910 near Georgetown, with a movie still from a 1922 Fritz Lang film "Dr. Mabuse the Gambler," that included a seance scene. These images are purposely overlaid to highlight the X-shapes that make up the building's piers, which line up with the seance participants' hands. Two additional Xs are added to note the 20th Anniversary of the Georgetown Haunted History Tour.

The use of additional color washing, shading and other design techniques help add to the spooky effects for the event poster.

This image was also made into T-shirts that were given to volunteers and for sale during the tours.

Marketing Sticker

I developed this sticker with Friends of Georgetown History as a way to create and increase memberships for the organization.

The Ghost Club, if established, would provide members with early access to event ticket sales, tours, and other special events. The design of the skull on the books was found in a clip art collection.

I worked with the Foghi Board and other participants to finalize this design, however, the Ghost Club was never founded.
